CPU overheating to 50 degres celsius even in internet explorer...

so these are my specs


=> AMD A8-5600k APU with Radeon(tm) HD graphics 3,6ghz

RAM 8gb

64 bit OS windows 7

GTX 650

A55 Motherboard micro ATX from ASRock


Help bought this gear around 2-3 months ago.

I mean i play WoW and sometimes my CPU temperature goes over 65 degrees celsius. Ridicolous.


PS. my PSU sounds like a hair dryer any tipz?

I have a mini tower case. Its a Corsair modular 500W the PSU is in the rear over the chassi fan. I use the ASRock extreme tuning utility I have found a way with the program of reducing the PSU noise but only at the cost of reducing the chassi fan speed as well as I think the PSU RPM fan speed. When I feel my hand at the rear of my case I feel no air blowing out of the PSU however the complete opposite regarding the chassi fan. No I don't think so (downclocking) slow but steady the CPU goes down don't think its downclocking itself I would downclock the CPU to reduce the voltage value just to reduce the noise as well as the TDP generated, but thats to high tech and cba.


I heard about corsair PSU keep the hot air in the case and doesn't blow it out... If these rumours are held to be true does this mean a possible solution would be to remount my PSU to make the air blow out of the case instead of in? if its even possible... Thinking of the filter air system like the chicken fences maybe its only at one side of the cube as well as the power cable only at that side as well. Why aren't there any good PSUs?

Edit: over the chassi fan.

That does seem a little high it should be around 40 to 50 degrees. Perhaps the heatsink isn't making good contact with the CPU or is clogged. TH did a article about properly applying thermal grease you can review. I usually put one fan in the front of the case to draw in cold air and a fan in the back to blow it out. Creating a good airflow helps keep your system cool. Check you grills to be sure they aren't clogged with dust cutting down airflow.

CPU fan speed is running at 3250 RPM

Chassis fan speed about 2k RPM

Power Fan speed 0 RPM

Motherboard temperature is 33*C completely ok i think

CPU speed is at 3.8k MHz APU/PCIE frequency 100 MHz

CPU frequency multiplier 38

CPU voltage 1.438 V


Not overclocked.

As im writing this its at 48*C with no games just notepad and internet explorer.

I really don't know what to do what should I do?

Buy a hyper cooler master 212? (Sounds the most plausible if I do this what are my chances I've seen some great reviews on the interwebz maybe it will replicate the way you fan your computer?)

Apply Thermal Paste? (I bought the CPU with thermal paste innit and connected with the heat sink.)

Rewire the case? (Maybe just maybe)

Remonitor the PSU (so confused)


This sounds like a riddle


PS. My voltage range for the PSU +3.3, +5, +12 are all between min to max specs.
