Basically I'm getting a BSOD when I play BF4.

I don't know in which category I should put this, but since I have windows 8 and I don't know much else about this issue I am posting it here.

I've had my PC for over 5 months now and I've never gotten this before and I've played a crap ton of games on this rig.

I have a GTX 670, i7 950, 6gb ram and 650W cooler master bronze certified power supply.

What could the issue be ? Keep in mind this only occurs after playing BF4 for at least an hour.

This error has only occured since a few days ago, I've been playing BF4 since it's release and the BSODs appeared recently.

All my drivers are up to date and I've run several cleaning softwares.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

PS : Also, if there is another section on these forums, that would correspond better to this issue, please tell me.

Is this issue only occurring within BF4? Or are other games causing the same bluescreen? If it's BF4 only, I would contact EA's support and let them know so it can be fixed. You've already done everything I would have suggested during the initial troubleshooting process, so confirming the scope of the problem is all that's left as far as I can tell.

Yes it only occurs while playing BF4, but EA's support is just......

I know.... you're preaching to the choir there. You could try contacting Nvidia to see if they can fix it from their end, but it's likely that they will say EA needs to fix the problem because it only happens with BF4. It remains a necessary evil unfortunately :(

I've been getting more and more issues with my rig since I started playing that game...

Game crashed earlier and now my screen is flickering blue, this never happened before...

It also heats up like crazy when I play it on high settings whereas my rig doesn't break a sweat (temps always below 60 degrees) when playing BF3 on ultra.

But thanks for responding regardless :)

Interesting.... try downloading FurMark. Furmark will run the graphics chip hotter than any game can out there now, and use whatever tool you had to monitor the temps before and keep an eye on them while running Furmark. If the GPU exceeds 80C on load, We should look at ways to cool it off.

This is easy fixed. Go to control panel, hardware and sound, manage audio devices, and disable all NVidia HDMI audio devices. The video_tdr_failure error will disappear immediately.

@ OP

Just be aware that if you do this, you will not be able to output any sound to your monitor(s). If you are routing your sound through a headset or a set of speakers using the 3.5mm audio jack on your sound card, then go ahead and disable them as mentioned above.

Scrap the sound option. Although it's a good idea to disable any sound options you are not using, this bug still came back.
