Right im not sure if SLI 770's or a single 780ti would be better for a dual monitor setup, resolution is 1080p and hopefully going ot upgrade to 1440p monitors maybe in a year when the prices go down.

This is the 770 setup.

In a year when you go to 1440p, both those graphics cards will be old and undesirable. Next generation 20nm GPU's will be here in early 2014(hopefully). For 1080p, grab a GTX 760 or Radeon 7870. Plus those will be much easier on the wallet to junk. Then you can buy a mid to high end 20nm GPU and be "state of the art" for ~approx 2 years.

"Maxwell" is the nVidia code word. You can research it. Today's tech in based on the 28nm fab process. It dates to late 2011. It's just too old and "washed up" to invest heavily in.
