I have G. Skill RIpjaws X series (16gb) (2x 8GB) DDR3 1333 memory, and a Maximus VI gene (ROG, Asus) mobo.. When i go to enable XMP it doesn't show up, the memory is XMP rated and so is the motherboard so why isn't the option available? thanks

Simple answer, XMP is only for DRAM 1600 and above, there are no profiles for 1333 and below, 1333 is basically consider mobo default - what you will want to do is check ing the BIOS that the spec timings (on the stick's label) are those showing in the BIOS and the voltage is correct

okay thanks, The timings are 9-9-9-24 and i think thats what it shows in the BIos (They were all Different options but it showed the same pattern) Anyway, how do i OC the memory then? I have my processor stable at 4.6ghs (pushing for 4.7 current)

On the DIMM - I call DRAM DIMMs sticks, have for a long time, an actual computer I tend to call a rig - I meant run memtest on the DRAM (1 DIMM at a time, so if one tests bad you know which), you'll also hear people call DIMMs Blocs, Bricks, line, and who knows what all else :)
