Nvidia GT 620M No Turbo?

Hello Everyone,

I have a laptop with an Nvidia GT 620M. GPUZ reports that it has a turbo of 713 and a base speed of 625.

I use MSI Afterburner to overclock the RAM slightly and to monitor various aspects of the system. Whenever I run a game though, specifically in this case Bioshock Infinity, the core clock tops out at 625 and doesn't go further.

I know heat can prevent the card from turboing, but I took the system apart and applied better thermal paste and the temperature dropped several degrees, but it is still not doing it.

it could be you overclock did you try going back to deflauts and running the game
you can also try putting your computer in high performance under windows power mangement
i have 2 gtx 760s and the same thing was happening

I thought about that but I am having trouble knowing for sure. I only have control over the RAM clock speed, or I would just push the core clock higher. But I reset overclocks to 0 so they aren't changed and same result.

I thought maybe Afterburner is locking it down at that speed, but its the same program monitoring for me, so I shut it off and I won't know if it goes up or not.

Oh I see it does have a method of saving to a file, so I could just stop and look at it after.
But again that program is glitchy on mobile systems and doesn't work on mine for more than a second before crashing. Only way I got information on my card from it was to read it after it froze.
