I just replaced the cartridges with epson 124s and now nothing is printing.

The printer goes through the motions as if it is printing, but nothing is on the page (not even the light little spots of ink you would get with misaligned heads).

I've tried:
* head alignment (nothing at all on the page).

* Printhead test (again, nothing at all on the page).

* Made a word document with a block of each color of ink and tried printing it (again nothing on the page).

Just to re-state, these are brand new, genuine epson 124 ink cartridges.

Update:

Ok, through several head cleaning cycles with nozzle checks in-between (and some creative windex action involving q-tips as I am currently out of paper towels) I managed to get the printer working again somewhat.

However, it still refuses to print blue (anything blue ends up orange)...so any advice on that angle would be greatly appreciated.

It seems the blue nozzles are still blocked. Using the nozzle-cleaning utility in the printer driver is very wasteful of ink so it's better to remove all the printer carts., partially disassemble the printer to remove the printhead and soak it (the printhead) in warm soapy water for several hours or overnight.

Then let it dry thoroughly before re-assembling.

Epson printers are particularly prone to nozzle blockages if left unused for a few days, so you should try to remember to print off something every day which uses a small amount of each ink colour. This is sufficient to push the old ink through and prevent it from drying inside the nozzles instead of on the paper.
