Currently have a 7870 ghz and saw that the r9 270x has a 4gb model. So how will this perform in crossfire?will this be better than a single card?

The 4GB only helps if the resolution is higher than 1080P, the 270X is renamed and tweaked HD7870 so 2 x 270X would be better.
