Hi,
I can't use one of my hard drives (WD Green 1TB). I would like for this to work so I can record to a separate drive. It shows in device manager but not in disk management. I downloaded a 3rd party software (Crystal Disk Info) and it was recognized in there as well. I just need some assistance on what I should do to fix this.

Any reply is greatly appreciated and please leave any comments or questions below.

EDIT: I forgot to say that I have Windows 8.1.

Drive is malfunctioning then OR was formatted via Linux (for example it was a external drive in a case, or came out of a different system). You can try downloading DBAN, which runs off your CD/DVD drive. Unplug your OS/any other Datadrive, boot off DBAN, select the TB drive to wipe if you can, does it wipe the drive? If not then your looking probably at a malfunction and it is DEAD.
Can you recheck what you said here. Your saying it is in Device Manager but not Disk Management. If Device Manager can see the drive, then there should be a UNALLOCATED (as in not assigned a drive letter) drive listed. There is two parts, the upper and lower part of the display. On the lower part, if you scroll down and mentally check off each drive, there is no 'extra' drive listed? If there is, it will be UNALLOCATED, which means the drive wasn't formatted. Simply right click and create a new simple volume
