Just got a new graphics card (Need help with it I suppose)

I recently just upgraded from a I think NVidia Geforce Ti 520 to a GTX 650 Ti boost. I have an i5 cpu @ 3.2GHz. 8gigs of RAM. I'm wondering why I still get lag in games like Final Fantasy: A Realm Reborn and Rift. I'm not running the games on ultra or max settings but I still randomly get dips in fps and it's bugging the hell out of me. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Well it can happen if you're changing scenery depending on the game. Honestly the card you have isn't super powerful, chances are you're reaching the card's limit.

When they occur normally it's from me just panning my camera around while running through areas. It's not really from intense scenes or a lot of people being in one general spot.
