Hi there, i have been looking at a cheap pc build, that i can play some light games such as LoL on and some other games. However, my main use of my pc will be to render videos with Sony vegas. I have been looking around, but i can't find an answer as to if the AMD a10-6800 renders videos fast on sony vegas. This is my first pc that i am building myself, so i really want to be sure to get all answers before i buy the parts. Here are the parts for it: http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/parts/partlist/
Tbh, i am not even sure if the motherboard is a good one :p  i am such a total noob :)
The reason why i chose the Apu is because, i can do some light gaming such as league of legends on 60fps+ and maybe occasionally a more intense game on low settings, which i don't mind at all. I am not searching for ultra settings build ;)

My 2 questions really are this:

Is this a good build for rendering sony vegas videos?
And if not, can you recommend anything for around the same price range, £380-£450
+if you have the Amd A10 6800K, can you post some screenshots of how long a 10 minutes video would take to render on sony vegas?

Thank You

The A10 is a good all around cpu. It will handle med-high setting gaming @ 720p by itself. It's overall cpu performance is on par with the i3s, and it's igpu is on par with a HD 6670 when setup right.

Rendering is not going to be a strong suit for it though.

You would be better off getting a Athlon x4 760k and a 7750, 7770, or 7850 for just a little more($40-50) than the A10 by itself.

or even better

A FX 6300 and a 7770, 7790, or 7850 for an extra $80-90. It would very much be worth it.

sorry, the link for it is here http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/p/216x1

it doesnt have to be the best for rendering, i really just need it to add an intro to my webcam videos, because my current pc that i have now, renders a 10 minutes video in 1hour -.-
all i really hope for is that the amd a10-6800k can render it in maybe 15-20 minutes... even 25 is okay

Thanks for answering so fast

That's a decent build. You'll probably be happy with the A10.

Hi, just one last question, could you give me an estimate on how fast the apu would render a 10 minutes video on sony vegas, a rough estimate is fine :)  other than that, thank you very much for helping me out :D

No I can't. Sorry. But I can help you set it up to make it as fast as possible.

Get 2133mhz ram and run it in dual channel. 1866mhz at LEAST.
You can overclock the igpu to around 1000mhz pretty easily.
With a proper cooler, you can get up to 5.0ghz per core.

Hi there, sorry that it took me so long to reply, urm, so i should get a 2133 mhz ram stick right? I'll be honest here, i don't know what dual channel means, but i guess it means 2 ram sticks instead of one right? I won't be able to overclock it just yet, because of my budget, but if i will buy a proper cooler/fan to overclock the igpu and the cpu, do you think i should get a normal cooler or a water cooler like a corsair h80

I got a Cooler Master TX3 for my 6800k.

This is a great deal on 2133mhz ram that expires in 65 minutes(2am pacific time)

Thanks for the help, but newegg won't do me any good since i live in the UK :)  thats why i am looking for a budget pc, otherwise i would've probably gone with the amd fx 8320 or something, but prices in the uk are too expensive

impossible to estimate the video render time without more information. What is your source format? What resolution? how many transitions? how many clips have color correction applied? audio effects? What is your destination format? Is the footage coming off of the hard drive or the SSD?

Urm, I am not adding any effects to the videos really, I am litterally just putting an intro at the beginning of a webcam video thats it :)  videos are on average around 10mins long...
