I've had my current Gaming PC for 6 years and it's time for an upgrade.

New System

Win 7 Pro 64 bit
MOTHERBOARD
Asus P9X79 PRO Motherboard
CPU
Intel Core i7 3820 Quad Core LGA 2011 3.6GHz
RAM
G.Skill DDR3-2133 (4X4GB) 16GB Quad Channel [RipjawsZ] F3-17000CL11Q-16GBZL
Quad Channel

GRAPHICS CARD
Gigabyte AMD Radeon R9 280X 3GB Overclocked Video Card (GV-R928XOC-3GD)

HDD
Samsung 840 EVO 250GB 2.5" SATA III SSD MZ-7TE250BW
Seagate ST4000DM000 4TB 64MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5"

750W PSU, SATA2 320GB HDD, DVD Burner & Gaming case from my current system will be installed into new System.

Total Cost $1,800 AUD

Any comments re: incompatible hardware or replacement hardware suggestions (more bang for the buck + guarding against future gaming requirements)?

The only positive to this build over a Haswell 4770K is that you can upgrade to more cores later. Is this a gaming mainly build? Haswell will let you spend more on the GPU!!!

I can't believe I left out the Graphics card!!:(

GRAPHICS CARD
Gigabyte AMD Radeon R9 280X 3GB Overclocked Video Card (GV-R928XOC-3GD)

The PSU is a ThermalTake 750W Tough Power (PSUTH750TP)

The 4770K is actually only $10 AUD cheaper than the 3820 Quad and it's mainly only going to be used for gaming & for storage of Movies & Software.
