That CPU is a great CPU.

Im not too familiar with that motherboard but if you wanted to overclock you could get a Z77 chipset motherboard. But if not then just stick with what you have.

How about something like this PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant / Benchmarks

CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO 82.9 CFM Sleeve Bearing CPU Cooler (£23.98 @ Scan.co.uk)
Motherboard: Asus Z77-A ATX LGA1155 Motherboard (£84.10 @ Dabs)
Storage: Samsung 840 Series 120GB 2.5" Solid State Disk (£78.65 @ Overclockers.co.uk)
Video Card: Asus GeForce GTX 780 3GB Video Card (£409.99 @ Dabs)
Total: £596.72
(Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available.)

More powerful GPU, a better mobo to allow overclockign and a good CPU cooler to handle the heat from overclocking.

If you didnt want a 780 you could get an r9 280X or a GTX 770.

The i5 4670k is better than the 3570k but not by a lot. If you needed an i7 it would be worth upgrading.

Are there any features you are looking for that your motherboard doesn't already have?

Edit: Post above mine is a great suggestion.

I play a wide range of games, so I just want this to last so I know the CPU does impact Fps but how much ?

I am thinking the two things I will upgrade will be my CPU and graphics card but I am worried that Navidia will just make a new one and blow the 780 out the water so do i wait ?

The 780 ti is really expensive and you would blow most of your budget on it.

For gaming the i7 offers minimal (if any) increase over the i5 since most games dont use hyperthreading.

Also I have just noticed your monitor. Forget about getting a 780 with that monitor. Get a 1080p monitor.

Here is a revised suggestion

PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant / Benchmarks

CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO 82.9 CFM Sleeve Bearing CPU Cooler (£23.98 @ Scan.co.uk)
Motherboard: Asus Z77-A ATX LGA1155 Motherboard (£84.10 @ Dabs)
Storage: Samsung 840 Series 120GB 2.5" Solid State Disk (£78.65 @ Overclockers.co.uk)
Video Card: Sapphire Radeon R9 280X 3GB Video Card (£250.53 @ Dabs)
Monitor: Asus VE247H 23.6" Monitor (£140.69 @ Scan.co.uk)
Total: £577.95
(Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available.)
(Generated by PCPartPicker 2013-11-12 12:52 GMT+0000)

If you wanted to go a bit over budget you could still get that monitor and a 780. But the R9 280X shoud be able to handle most/all games on max settings. at good framerates, its a great card

Getting a 780 when your monitor max resolution is 1366 x 768 is a waste.

I KNEW SOMETHING WAS WRONG!!!! my monitor thank you :) would you say it makes a large difference getting a better one ? and if so why not a 1440 ???

also would the 780 last me a while of next gen ?

thank you

Going from 720p to 1080 makes a massive difference to me, everything is so much sharper and better.

Good 1440p monitors can be expensive and you would need a graphics card that could run the games at good frames at 1440p. Now I cannot personally attest to 1440p vs 1080p because ive only ever played at 1080p.

Yes a 780 will be able to run pretty much anything at max for a long time. An R9 280x will also run most games at max/high at 60 FPS for a long time to come as well.

I am no expert on monitors but i have 2 friends with this one

http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B004T2LMP2/ref=s9_simh_gw_p147_d0_i1?pf_rd_m=A3P5ROKL5A1OLE&pf_rd_s=center-2&pf_rd_r=0VRFCXKY4X485W6SVJGM&pf_rd_t=101&pf_rd_p=430153987&pf_rd_i=468294

They swear by that monitor and I have seen it recommended a couple of times on the forum.

As for the cable question I assume you mean HDMI vs DVI. The picture quality is the same the only difference (to my knowledge) is that HDMI also carries the audio as well as the picture.

I think the best thing to do would be to go to the monitor subsection of these forums and have a look at those threads to get some ideas. If you don't see anything that you like make a thread asking for monitor suggestions. Someone with better knowledge than me should be able to help you out in that regard

I will but you have been a great help so thank you :) I will keep you up to date on what card I get and the monitor on here wish me luck :)

Try and get a GTX 770, otherwise, the build is pretty solid and the 660ti is a pretty good card.
