Hi all,
This question is probably asked alot but anyway....
I was planning on purchasing a Msi gtx 760 tf, but unfortunately I realised that my monitor is only 720p.

I want to play most games at high-ultra settings at about 60fps

Would this card be complete overkill? If so could you guys surgest a different card, no more than £180.

I don't want to buy a new monitor so gpus only please :)

Solution
Yep it's alright but that one is also a great cooler, some users on this forum can vouch for it

CPU Cooler: Phanteks PH-TC12DX 68.5 CFM CPU Cooler (£34.94 @ Scan.co.uk)
Motherboard: Asus M5A97 EVO R2.0 ATX AM3+ Motherboard (£75.09 @ Dabs)

Storage: Kingston SSDNow V300 Series 120GB 2.5" Solid State Disk (£59.99 @ Aria PC)...
Jip, it most certainly would be overkill.
HOWEVER 2 things to consider :

1. You may want to upgrade to 1080p.
2. The GTX760 would provide some extra future proofing even at 720p.

Now if you want to save some and NOT get the GTX760.

The GTX650 ti BOOST 1GB/2GB is a more than good enough card for like just over 100$.
The 2GB version can actually be used for reasonable FPS on 1080p too.

Second monitors do not effect performance as games can not run on 2 monitors at once. :)

Recommendation remains the same.

Seems good but for 2 things.

1. I would suggest a sligthly higher quality PSU. Like an XFX pro. The CX series are for extreme low end build and does not really deliver anywhere close to 500W.
2. You dont need RAM that fast as the platform barely supports it, there is also no performance gain above 1600MHz for every day use and gaming. 1600MHz/1866MHz is more than enough.

Yip, its possible. And a good idea too.

If the RAM is priced well, that makes sense.

Let me do the math.

http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/power-supply-review-80-plus-bronze,3587-4.html

38Amps x 12volt = 456Watt.

Its well made but extreme low cost. I never suggest the CX unless its for a system that does not have a discreet graphics card.
