Hello there, I am selling my two Sapphire Radeon 7770's on eBay here:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Sapphire-Radeon-HD7770-OC-Edition-/141113539124?pt=UK_Computing_Computer_Components_Graphics_Video_TV_Cards_TW&hash=item20db05ba34

With the money I get from these, I am gonna upgrade my PC to either a 5970, 6970 or 7950. I've heard the 5970 is an absolute beast because it has dual GPU's, but i've also heard that it runs hot and is very power hungry.

I've heard the 6970 is a good performer, but not worth the price?

And I've heard the 7950 is a good performer, very overclockable and very power efficient.

My Specs:

Gigabyte GA-970A-DS3
AMD Athlon II X4 640 (Will soon be an FX-6300)
8GB Kingston HyperX Blu @1333 (Should be 1600, but CPU limits it to 1333)
Either a 5970, 6970 or 7950
FSP Bluestorm II 530W (80plus certified)
Antec GX-700 Gaming Case
Windows 7 Ultimate 64
1x 750GB & 1x 500GB

So, which is better for my system? The 5970, 6970 or 7950?

P.S - I can also afford the R9-270X, should I get this?

Thank you for your time. :)

In my country (UK), the 7950 is around £160, while the R9 280X is about £250. Quite a big difference if you ask me. The 7950 is equivalent to a 280x when overclocked anyway.

Are you having problems with crossfiring the two 7770's??
They are stronger CFed than any of the cards you have listed. You could save up for a better upgrade.
The 7950 is the choice I would go with out of the three listed.

I am having issues with the crossfire, my motherboard is x16/x4, which makes games choppy and sometimes unplayable. Also, most of the games I play don't even support crossfire.

Cheers!

weirdly, someone on the gigabyte forum put one in and it works. But apparently they dont support that amount of power that the 8350 will draw on that board.
