Hey all,

I am building a new system and can't decide between these two memory:
It is for gaming and general use. However, I do need 16GB of RAM and the price difference between the two below is like $5 with the discount. I have an Asus Z87 Pro Motherboard with an Intel i7 4770K. So which RAM is better?

** G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1866 (PC3 14900) Desktop Memory Model F3-1866C9D-16GXM
--- Timing 9-10-9-28
--- Cas Latency 9
--- Voltage 1.5V

** G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 2133 (PC3 17000) Desktop Memory Model F3-2133C9D-16GXH
--- Timing 9-11-11
--- Cas Latency 9

Thank you very much!

Solution
DDR3-2133 CL9 is is the better memory kit. In fact, it should be capable of the same specs as the top DDR3-1866 CL9 kit, but not vice versa. Any black RipJaws, X, or Z is the best.

You will be very pleased with the XH model.

Thank you

The bottom kit is definatly better than the top one, it hs the same CL at a faster speed. If you think you're in a situation where you might need 16gb then you might as well spend the extra $5 to get the faster memory in this situation.

Yes the Ripjaws Z series were designed for haswell based systems, and particularly Asus boards.

1.6v won't hurt anything but if it bothers you mentally it can easily run at 1866 or 2000 mhz at 1.5v. POSSIBLY even 2133 at 1.5v fi you loosen the first timing to 10
