safe crossfire temps?

Solution
Is that the max temp during heavy loads? As long as it doesn't go past 85°C, it should be okay. If your case allows, strap an extra 120mm fan right in front of the cards to give the top card more air to breathe.

hi bud i it is while playing metro last light say for 20 mins, i have a small fan in the center and top and a big 120 mm at the back and a 120 mm at the front of the case. this is all it can support. but in battlefield 4 the temps dont go past 75?

That's pretty warm but not crazy if you can point a fan directly between the two cards and one just above the top card it will really help I have two 7950's was getting very high temps till I got air in them . Also you might want to check the thermal paste took apart a couple 7970's today that were horrible.

I wouldn't bother with re-pasting the GPU unless there really was something wrong with it. It's fairly normal for cards in CrossFire to run this hot, but they're still within the maximum temperature threshold, so I would just let it be. And besides, some manufacturers will void the warranty if you dismantle the card. Don't fix it if it ain't broke, simple as that.

Its crazy how poorly applied the paste can come on these cards but if it voids your warranty its certainly not worth it when you can just rma the card but if your lucky enough to have xfx with lifetime warranty new paste applied right makes a huge difference. As long as its not getting over 85 its alright.

You may also want to add a fan filter, wouldn't want dust clogging up your GPU cooler.
