Hi guys,

i have just finished my new build, and everything seemed to be fine for days. But yesterday when i was playing Battlefield 4, the game froze and the pc crashed. At first i thought that it was thanks to Battlefield. (as the game is still very buggy) But after the pc crashed, it tried to boot up, but it shut down almost instantaniously. This booting and shutting down went on for a while, but it managed to boot up to the windows desktop.

I checked my cpu temps, but they seemed to be fine. I re-plugged all the hard drive cables. And i took the memory in and out. But it crashed shortly after i checked my cpu temps. And then it has the same problem again.

now i dont know what could be causing this.

With a new build it could be almost anything. For example, a machine I recently built began getting BSODs at random for a couple of weeks until yesterday when the PSU quit. The possibility of PSU failures are often overlooked. PSUs can produce many random intermittent errors which are very difficult to pin down. This is one reason why I preach to use an oversized PSU and make sure it's HIGH quality. But, as you can see, even I am subject to PSU failure. About the only thing you can do is replace components until the problem is located. But don't overlook the PSU.

Well it seems like i found out what the problem is. For some reason, the bios tried to overclock the CPU on its own. It wasn't me, because i dont want to overclock my cpu yet as i still have a stock cooler :). And the cpu temp paramaters were set to about 45 degrees. Which ment that it would crash during almost all boots. But now everything seems to be running fine again.

If anybody could tell me why and how this happend, that would be great.
