Can you turn off integrated graphics?

I, normally, know quite a lot about computers and graphics cards and such, but the APU series is very confusing. I'm trying to build a computer with an APU but I'm worried about the performance. So, naturally, I thought I could just crossfire the integrated graphics with something like an R9 270x, but I've been reading and apparently only certain GPU's are compatible to crossfire with the APU I'm choosing. Upon reading this, I thought of it being possible to just not use the integrated graphics and only use my dedicated graphics card. Is this possible?

This will be my build:

CPU: AMD A8-6600k with Radeon hd 8570D
Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-F2A55-DS3

I'm aware the motherboard doesn't support PCIE 3.0 and that my dedicated graphics card wouldn't run as good as it should but that'll be solved once I upgrade my build, so no need to mention that.

That all said, which GPU is compatible with the Radeon HD 8570D (preferably the most powerful GPU possible, please)? What will I gain by crossfiring it? Can't I crossfire the R9 270x? If not, can I ONLY use the R9 270x and, somehow, not use the integrated graphics?

Thank you, your answer was a GREAT help and answered my questions.
If you aren't going to answer my question, there isn't much point in answering anything.
