FX-8350 can't overclock past 4.3ghz

Right now I have my CPU COed at 4.3ghz at stock voltage. When I try to go 4.4ghz it always crashes/freezes/BSoD. I tried increasing the voltage even up to 1.4v and it still crashes and stuff. I have all the power savings off. Is my power supply inadequate?

FX-8350
CF 7970s
H100i cooler
AX850
16gb Corsair Vengeance 1600mhz

Your PSU is easily enough. Make sure your overclocks aren't also pushing your RAM too hard; loosen timings on your RAM. You may need to give your Northbridge an extra .05V as well.

What are the temps of your Voltage Regulators? That MB isn't really designed for Overclocking, so there is a good chance they are overheating and becoming unstable.

Also, when I pushed my 8150 to 5GHz I had to go all the way to 1.54V. Definitely possible with the H100i, but I backed it off after that. Try bumping to 1.45 or so.

your psu is fine, I have a 8320 OC'd to 4.6ghz with a CX600m.

how are you trying to get to 4.4? multiplier OC or bus speed?

These two links have helped me a lot figure out

It's the oc multiplier

My VRM temps just go up to 40ish Celsius. My airflow is pretty good.

Do you guys think my motherboard can handle up tp 4.5ghz?

BTW im stress testing with prime96

The only thing that should be holding the chip back from a solid 4.5 is the MB. Try upping the voltage a bit more, and see where you can get.

Ya, I just had a Asus m970 chipset board, couldn't get past 4.1 without bsod's no matter what. Took it back and got a 99fx chipset board and can hit 4.6 with ease and probably 5.0 if I wanted to really tweak it. I'm just starting oc'ing and getting 1.1ghz more, but I needed a better board to do it.

Overclocking 101
-Set manual voltages to stock
-Set manual frequencies to stock
-Set manual timings to stock
-overclock

many people skip setting the manual timings/frequencies/voltages.

That VRM Temp is fine, don't be afraid to feed it some voltage with that cooler.

As getochkn mentioned I had similar luck going from a M5A97 to a 990fx (sabertooth) board. I have had it stable at 5.1GHz.
