So I was browsing GPU's today and I found that with most GTX 670's you get Assassin's Creed 4 for free which I was planning on buying anyway. I figured I'd take the opportunity to shave off $60 bucks with a new GPU and was curious which of these would be most ideal?

I never fully understood why the prices of the same video card tend to fluctuate so widely.

Here is my system:
- Intel i7 3820 Processor running @ 3.8ghz
- Liquid CPU Cooling 120mm Fan
- 16GB DDR3 G.Skill Ripjaws X
- NVIDIA GTX 650 Ti - 2GB - EVGA Superclocked - Core: 1071MHz
- ASUS P9X79 LE - 2x USB 3.0 MOBO
- 180 GB Intel 330 SSD
- 1 TB Hard Drive 32M Cache, 7200 RPM, 6.0Gb/s
- Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit
- 500 Watt - Corsair CX500 V2

I think the best GPU I could possibly buy with my PSU would be the GTX 670. I'd consider upgrading my PSU but I figure with the Assassins Creed 4 promotion with the 670's I might as well take advantage and stick to the 670.

Unless someone can somehow formulate a better deal through both a new PSU and GPU that would come close. I'd be willing to pay a bit more if I can get a huge upgrade over a GTX 670.

Anyways, I'm just curious which GTX 670 would be best based on this list:

Also, how much longer will the 670 last until it starts to become obsolete? I'd say it's actually a pretty old card at this point?

Edit - I will not be running SLI

This one is your best bet http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...

But you may want to look at GTX770's instead

I would absolutely get a GTX 770 in a heartbeat but my PSU wouldn't be able to handle it at 500w.

So I'd be paying an extra $150+ on a good PSU to handle a new GPU.

Your PSU will handle a 770 no problems what so ever so long as it is a good one, a 770 is just an overclocked 680.

it maybe but it has more cuda cores so it tends to use more power

So I'd be paying an extra $150+ on a good PSU to handle a new GPU.

So you're saying I can run a GTX 770 with a 500w PSU.....? Sounds pretty damn risky

I'm curious if I should hold off completely until Black Friday/Cyber Monday prices? I wonder if there will be a sweet card for a really good deal. Or maybe this one will have a better deal.

I think the price on this one actually dropped in the last few days or so:

If you are absolutely going to buy a 670 I'd suggest the MSI or the Asus as not only the best, but the cheapest options. If the 670 FTW Signature 2 was still around (RIP) I'd suggest that one.
Since you are playing at 1920x1080 you don't really need a 4GB model, but if you want one the cheapest is the Gigabyte which is still a beastly card.
(Links are embedded.. just FYI)

I agree but the 4gb will be much better for modern games such as battlefield 4
its uses around 2.5gb to 3.5 gbs on ultra

Which is certainly true. Skyrim, in some instances, BF4 and probably an increasing number of upcoming games will require more than 2GB on max settings with 4xAA+. The Gigabyte then would be the smartest future-considering option with the 670.
However, considering price/performance AND amount of Vram, the 280X/7970 option becomes more appealing. There's this 7970 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168... for about the same price as a 670 with better performance and 3GB Vram.
