Card: SAPPHIRE Radeon HD 6450 1GB 64-bit DDR3 PCI Express 2.1 x16 HDCP Ready Video Card

MOBO: Abit AN-M2HD. Board has pci-e slot. Sapphire says slots needs to be 2.0v slot. Abit is no longer in business so don't know where to look or ask. I have mobo manual and can check if told where to find slot voltage. I didn't see it when I looked. No surprise, I'm new at this. Thanks. I can send a jpg of the mobo diagram if needed.

Solution
No you can use cards version 1 version 2.0 or 3.0. It was just some other functionality that AMD included in the ver 2.1 cards that needed to be supported by motherboard BIOS. In 2009 when the HD5xxx series was released this forum was full of this issue.
HD4350, 4650 Nvidia GT210-240 or GT610-640 will all work since they are version 2.0.
Problem is the card is version 2.1 and many boards with older slots ver 1.x have no video issue only with cards version 2.1
Many board manufacturers fixed the issue with BIOS update but abit being out of business hardly. Any card version 1.x , 2.0 or 3.0 will though work and this was only with the 2.1 cards.

So maybe need a used card as all new ones will be 2.1? Is there a way to verify which version of PCI-E I have on the mobo instead of assuming old=PCI v1?

It is only the AMD HD5xxx and HD6xxx series cards that have this issue being ver 2.1 any Nvidia card or HD4xxx or newer HD7xxx do not. If you can get the specs on the board it will say if the slot is 2.0 which will work if it does only say PCIe X16 it is one of the alder 1.x slots.

Wondering, as a test to see how my tv manages (old Toshiba HD crt) can I temporarily hook in my main PC with its ATI Radeon HD 5450 onboard and output to the TV? Before I pop for a graphics card for the ABIT PC. Abit's onboard video produced poor quality, that's why I'm in market for a board for that box. Thanks.
