No problem there, you can run that card with your setup without issues.

As for the comparison with the 7970, they're in different leagues, which it is why the 780ti costs the double, a fair comparison would be the 780ti vs the 7970 crossfire, and in that case I think I'd still get the 780Ti.

Now, to be fair, a card like the 7970 (or 280x, or GTX 770) is still a very capable GPU that will be capable of playing all AAA titles at 1080p at their highest-ish settings.

Cool I was gonna sell my 7970 and buy that and get more ram not because I need more RAM but I just want it for the quad channel.. but, could I get 2 x 4gb instead of 2 x 8gb but same frequencies as the other 2x8gb on the board?

Wait, I could just get another 7970 :D and still perform better than the ti
