Hey, I've recently been trying to repair a computer.
Which has been crashing quite often, I ran a HDD diagnostics, and found that there are bad sectors on the drive. however, after replacing the the HDD It crashes still but less often, I'm suspecting its the GPU, as the screen just freezes, and a weird glitchy sound plays through my headphones while audio is played.

The graphics card is a ATI Radeon 4870

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Screen freeze while other things continue to operate could mean your power supply is on it's way out.
As dextermat said, test by pulling the GPU and running the onboard video for a while and see if you still experience the issue.

I would but, It doesn't have a I/O port for it, I will grab a spare GPU and test that
