I have an ASUS M5A97 LE R2.0 motherboard and 2x4gb G.SKILL RAM sticks that run at 1066mhz stock. Can i change/overclock my ram in my bios? If so can someone give me detailed description with pictures possibly?

Depends on the set of DRAM and your CPU - generally yes - what model # of DRAM do you have and what CPU (and is it OCed)

My DRAM is 535.1mhz (according to CPU-Z) and i have an AMD FX 4130, it is not overclocked.

Good set ;)  Let's try initially 1333 , go into BIOS and find the DRAM info in the ADvanced or tweaking page - set the frequency manually to 1333 - change the base timings to 8-8-8-22, then raise the DRAM voltage to 1.5, ensure Commnd Rate/Timing is at 2T or 2N, and raise CPU/NB voltage to 1.18 and give it a try ;)

How do i change the base timings? its a little confusing, sorry.

In the BIOS should be a DRAM area with the base timings they prob are at something like 7-7-7-18, 8-8-8-21 or 9-9-9-24 (each will be an individual entry)

I did it, how will i know it worked? my DRAM frequency in CPUZ is now 668 though.

That's it ;)  congrats, ;0, CPU-Z shows true freq, and since this is DDR (DOUBLE Data Rate) it's 668 x 2 = 1336 effective - now just use the rig as normal and if no BSODs should be good to go, run it for a couple days, then if no problems and feeling frogging Post up or PM me and we can see if you can run them at 1600 :)  in the meantime may want to close the thread

Same as before but freq to 1600, timings to 9-9-9-25, 2T or 2N and DRAM to 1.55, CPU/NB to 1.21 - if works CPU-Z should show it as 800 (DDR = 800X2=1600 effective)
