What Components Should I Upgrade For Maximum Performance?

Hi all~

I built my rig about 3+ years ago for a hefty price-tag and it's still chugging along just fine. I would, however like to replace some of the components that may be holding it back, because it's starting to slow down in some of the video-games I play and particularly when I try streaming. I'm unsure which components are more outdated and which parts I could continue to use with minimal downside. I'm really looking to play all of the newest PC games and be able to run LOL on max settings while streaming with little FPS drop.

Thanks for your input!

Current Specs:
ASUS Rampage III Formula x58 LGA 1366
Intel Core i7 970 @ 3.2GHz (Hexcore)
12GB of RAM (I think it's at 1600MHz)
GeForce GTX 570

Solution
honestly i dont think its a big enough step to warrant a 770. if you said 780 or 780ti then ya but the 570 is still a really good card. unless you play games for the graphics instead of the game. ya the 290x is going to be really good with an asus or msi cooler on it. itll be a big step up and might be cheaper. itll happen in 2-3 months probably.

I'm not entirely sure, but I'd say it ranges between 300-800 dollars over time. Obviously the more bang I can get for my buck, the happier I'd be.

best bang for your buck is to let it keep chugging along and lower a couple settings, personally i would wait till there is non-reference 290x's but if you need to upgrade something right away i would get a 290. rest of your system is fine, unless you dont have an ssd.

Are the cooling issues with the 290x really that bad right now? Also, I've never used an AMD card before, is a 770 enough ( I would save me around 150) or is that not even worth it?
