After market heat sink?

Solution

100% load on Prime95 it goes to 78*C. to 80*C. Normal load with 8 tabs open in Firefox with YouTube playing a video and MS Outlook open for e-mail it shows 33*C. to 35*C.

amd phenom II x6 1090t, i have a cpu water cooler, but it feel like it's not doing a good job. It's an antec kuhler 920

The SE2011 version is for Socket 2011 for Intel-based processors, so you don't need that version.

The Noctua NH-D14 is, however, one of the best air-cooling solutions money can buy. It is perfectly good the way it is. I believe it still is on sale for $75-80, which is a pretty good deal. If you're willing to spend that much, but all means, go for it!

The NH D14 SE 2011 also has different fans from the regular NH D14. The SE 2011 has PWM speed controlled fans which are very quiet. The regular NH D14 has voltage controlled fans, which some MBs do not support for fan speed control. If your MB does not have voltage control capability, your fans will run at 100% all the time unless you add in the supplied Low Noise Adapter, which slows the fans down to a slower, constant speed.

I had to buy a $10 kit to use the NH D14 SE 2011 on my socket LGA 1150 MB. I feel that this was a wise investment to get the PWM speed controlled fans, as the cooler is near silent most of the time. I assume that similar kits are available for AMD MBs.

If you get the Noctua, no additional fans will be needed.

Oh thanks! I was looking at your specs on the bottom of your post and see that you have your system at 4.7 ghz along with your suggest heatsink. I will give this heatsink a go once i get money in my wallet first.

The NH D14 is a winner guaranteed not to disappoint!

Let me know if I can help.

Good luck!
