What controller works with Windows 8.1?

Hey, guys!

I was using PS3 controller with MotioninJoy driver on my Windows 8.0 system, but now that I upgraded to 8.1, I don't know what controller would work. Did anybody try to install MotioninJoy driver for PS3 controller? How about X-Box 360? Is it compatible out of the box? (I don't have one, only PS3, so I would have to buy it). What about X-Box One? The talk was that its controller will be compatible with Windows PC? How about PS4? I have not open any games for a month because I have no controller- really need one soon. Thank you.

Thank you for your reply. Any particular 360 controller? Logitech? Wireless or wired? I had issue with PS3 Bluetooth detection- I have Bluetooth disabled... Does the 360 wireless controller requires Bluetooth or is it USB receiver? Or should I use wired? Thank you.

It's just the official controller that would come with a 360, it is wired though. It works out the box as well, just plug in and windows does the rest. If you wanted to use a wireless you'd need a receiver like you said, something like this :http://www.amazon.com/HDE-Wireless-Receiver-compatible-Xbox-controller/dp/B0096PLB9O/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1384313742&sr=8-3&keywords=360+controller+pc

The PS4 controller should also work: http://www.ign.com/articles/2013/10/07/dualshock-4-will-be-compatible-with-pc-at-launch

and you can even buy them now: http://www.amazon.com/PlayStation-4-Dualshock-Wireless-Controller/dp/B00BGA9X9W/ref=sr_tr_sr_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1384313902&sr=8-1&keywords=ps4+controller

Edit: also, if you do decide on a 360 controller, I'd get an official microsoft one. Just a little bit more expensive (there's probably cheap ones on ebay) but it's worth it. My experience with third party controllers is they are much cheaper quality with buttons that stick and uncomfortable joysticks
