Hi, I am new to this site and to building my own desktop. I have done a lot of research over the past few days, and I was wondering if I am on the right track. These are the components I have chosen for a budget gaming desktop, and I was wondering if these were compatible/good choices.
Also, what is the weakest link in this setup? As in, what should I upgrade first for better performance? And should I get a better fan for my processor?

Okay first what is with 16 gigs of RAM? AC IV requires 2 gigs, 2 4 gigabyte sticks is more than enough. Also, GPU>CPU when it comes to gaming. So get a cheaper AMD or intel cpu and seriously upgrade your GPU, 7870 is the minimum for decent frames at decent settings in current games. Also, a toshiba SSD? The only SSD companies I trust are Intel, Samsung, Crucial and a few others. Cheap and decent SSD: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820167180&nm_mc=AFC-C8Junction&cm_mmc=AFC-C8Junction-_-na-_-na-_-na&cm_sp=&AID=10446076&PID=3938566&SID=

If money is an issue the yes down grade the CPU and upgrade the GPU to at least a 650 TI BOOST or a 600 I recommend no less that a 660TI. Also Samsung 840 EVO's are pretty good and decently priced. also Get a NZXT case, or a Fractal Design or a Cooler Master Case. Better cooling and plenty of room to work around

Or on the AMD side the 270 or 270x are both good cards and are super easy to over clock. On the Nvidia side there is the 660 or 760 if you can stretch it. I would recommend getting an AMD fx 8320 for about $160 and then a GTX 760 for about 250. For the GPU get one made by EVGA, gigabyte, Sapphire, Asus or MSI. All are very good, find whatever one is cheapest.
