I found an ATI Radeon 9000 64MB DDR memory AGP card which works with P 3 and XP but it only had a VGA port. My LCD monitor connects to DVI-D only.

Solution
There are many different models of AGP cards available on ebay , have a look there and you will be able to choose from a list of different cards.
I could suggest you an AGP card but I am not sure if you wish to game on it or if you are upgrading to a DVI Monitor

I do not engage in any gaming, just general computer use. The computer originally ran Windows ME and came with a NVidia NV990.0 GeForce 256 32MB DDR SGRAM AGP card running a DVI-D flatscreen LCD monitor. I installed Windows XP and several years later the video card stopped working (reputation for running hot?

While looking to replace the card, I learned that XP drivers were not available for that card. That is why I am looking for an alternative AGP card that has available XP drivers, is compatible with Pentium 3 and can run my original DVI-D LCD monitor. It appears that all current AGP cards from VisionTek, etc require at least a Pentium 4 processor. So I would certainly appreciate any suggestions regarding older AGP cards that would function on m older computer system running XP. Thanks

Two options:
1) VisionTek Radeon 7000 64MB DDR PCI videocard (not AGP).
2) Sapphire Radeon 9000 Pro 64MB AGP DVI VGA videocard
which requires at least a 250 Watt power supply.
