Guys i got a MSI 970A-G46 mobo with 2.0 slot....will graphic card such as GTX 650 with 3.0 work in my mobo....pls reply....thanks

Solution
Yes, PCIe is backward compatible. A PCIe 3.0 graphics card will work in a 1.0, 1.1, 2.0, or 3.0 slot.

The most notable difference between the differing, primary versions is bandwidth. 2.0 slots still offer enough bandwidth, you likely would not saturate a x16 slot with a top end graphics card.

Exactly. Also, the gtx 650 will not be able to fully saturate the pci-e 2.0 slot so you're not missing out on any performance loss.
