I bought an off the shelf desktop for my wife and upgraded a few things for myself. The desktop(Asus m11bb with a10-6700) looks to have a f2a55-m mobo but when I look up bios updates from their website, the standard f2a55-m has many more available downloads for bios and utilities than if you were to look at the bios updates from the desktop support page. I just don't want to download and install a bios that is incompatible, not even sure that's possible. If it helps, the power supply has been upgraded to a 600w thermaltake, added a xfx6670 and is currently running in dual graphics with the latest catalyst beta drivers, and took out the single 8gb stick of oem Kingston 12800 ram for 2 x 4gb of amd 1866.

I notice a lot of people recommend updating the BIOS and throw that out first as a thing to try. In my experience updating BIOS should be a careful decision. I recently may have created a huge headache for myself after updating my mobo bios.

If it physically says f2a55-m printed on the board then really it has to be, right? It's an ASUS board and an ASUS desktop. You could double check in cpu-z.

Anyway, if your PC is working fine I personally would let it be. :)
