Gaming on a 7ms IPS panel?

Hey folks. I've been on the hunt for a nice glossy screen for my new build. I found an HP 25xi which is listed as an IPS monitor at 7ms. I honestly don't game a ton, but I do here and there and like having the option. I really only play Skyrim and Flight Sims here and there, as well as emulators for classic gaming... I mostly plan on using the machine for audio production. My question: would gaming on a 7ms screen look terrible? I'm currently using a 5ms screen and have no problems with it. Any thoughts?

I was at best buy and was looking at a 6ms IPS screen and it was so bad. Gorgeous colors just everything was blurry and when the camera panned it all became mush. Even the cheap hundred dollar display was doing better. I would say you can but I sure wouldn't want to. I do use my PC for only gaming though so take that with a grain of salt

Thank you guys for the replies. Do you happen to know of any glossy screens that are decent for gaming? They seem to be a pretty rare commodity these days.

Any 2ms or less is good. LED, LCD etc. Depends on your budget. Asus has a 144hz gaming monitor thats rather expensive. Benq has a 1ms Gaming monitor that they use for Starcraft 2 etc. Also good and I think its cheaper than the Asus. Best is to look for something with 2ms or lower. Most 23" LED monitors are 2ms nowadays.

Whats your budget?
