Hello!

I recently purchased a GTX 770 2GB card. I love BF4, but was not getting the framerate I was hoping for with my 1440p display. I then returned that card and upgraded to the 780.

Although my benchmarks are certainly higher with the 780, I have VERY similar framerates to when I had the 770. Could my CPU be at fault? I have searched through forums and it seems as though the general consensus is that the 2500k is still a relevant cpu.

Nope! The 2500k wouldn't bottleneck 2 of those cards. It's probably the opposite in that the 2500k might be bottlenecking BF4, due to the game needed a big ass chunk of processing power during multiplayer.

And also the game is horrendously optimised at this point in time.

Are you playing single player or online when you notice the FPS issues?

The 2500k (especially OC'd) is still a viable chip.

You can reference the following link for comparisons to other cards.

Yarmock's link is PERFECT for the OP: BF4, Ultra settings, 1440P, various GPU's, and an i5-2500k @ 4.2GHz.

I only play online. It seems as though it might be BF4. Hopefully they work on optimization... no framerate dips in any other games. Thanks for the link Yarmock, very helpful.
