Hey guys. It;s me again. I would like to know is Gigabyte good, or I should stick with ASUS for motherboard? Also, is the brand VIP a good manufacturer of PSU units, or shuld I go for Cooler Master. The guy at the shop said that I would get better service of VIP in INDIA. So answer fast cuz I have to buy it in a day or two.

Motherboards ..... at the top end, I think Asus has more to offer than the competition..... performance, features, BIOS, aesthetics, etc.... at this time I am buying Asus MoBos from the top end down to the $220 price point (Gene). The Asus Maximus VI Formula is my current fav .... an I use the Sabertooth in more workstation oriented builds.

In the middle tier, MSI has got it completely locked up this time around, offering a component quality, performance and price ratio that is currently unmatched with the G45 and GD65 series. Reviewers are tripping over one another trying to sing the praises of the boards in this price range and they sit at the top of most performance tests. I don't do many builds below that $150 price point but...

Motherboards, gigabyte and Asus are both good brands you'll be fine with either one.

I know little of VIP, the Higher end Coolermaster supplies are good, Seasonic is the best. Though it seems not abusing the supply (asking too much power from it) seems to be nearly as important as who manufactured it.

So, are you saying I should go ahead with VIP?

Gigabyte,ASUS both are good but i would tell that Gigabyte ones are better. Asus has a lot of service centers in India and that's why they will suggest Asus(it's the shopkeeper's benefit not yours). U will probably not want a defective motherboard in the first place. And i hear more about Asus defective motherboards.

VIP PSUs are crap. They will work alright without a GPU. As soon as u add a mid range to high end GPU it will explode.
The Cooler Master PSUs u are going to get are also crap(less crappier than VIPs though).
Seasonic has the best performance/price ratio in India.
Corsair is the next suggested brand.

I don't do many builds below that $150 price point but when I do, I like the Asus budget line, thought not opposed to Gigabyte.

As for PSU's forget choosing by brand name.... For example, Corsair makes some great PSUs and they also make some stinkers.....same with most of the well known "quality" brands.

Their best line is the HX series but even within that line the 1000 and 1059 watters were dogs. The AX series is more efficient but rather than the 19 cets Id save each month, I'm more concerned about the lower voltage stability and increased ripple as compared to the HX line.

Seasonic makes some great ones, also make some so so ones .... Delta made the best PSU I have ever used....was sold by Antec as the CP-850. Peeps often laud Corsair because many if the PSUs are made by Seasonic but the fact is that the current premium line (A series) is made by F;extronics and most of the HX series was made by Channelwell .... Seasonic made the 450 thru 650's while Channelwell made the 750 and up.

For big builds....SLI w/ water cooling foir example.... I use strictly the Seasonic X-1250.

Those are the great (10.0 jonnyguru rating) ones.... the very good ones (9.5) include the Corsair TX V2 (drop anything with an M suffix) series, XFX Core Edition, Antec HCG and HCP series) and some others but lot of the others have very good ones at some wattages and so so ones at others.

Yeah, I was thinking about getting HD 7790 1GB sapphire. So, minimum of 500w would be required I'll try with Cooler Master Or Seasonic (if available in INDIA). Thanks to all of you.! :)

lol u picked a solution that had opinions far from your budget range. At your budget range the opinions differ a lot(Since u mentioned VIP i know what your budget range is).

A decent 350W psu is enough for HD 7790. Don't go with CoolerMaster because the nice ones of CM are overpriced , the ones u will be seeing are the bad ones. Get Seasonic or Corsair(except the VS series).

Defective ASUS motherboards(I'm not saying ASUS is bad but at your budget range Gigabyte is better):

Haha.! Thnx. But my total budget was around 40000 Rupees. And sorry I didn't chose your solution. And I think I should go with Seasonic and with ASUS or Gigabyte.

My boss's PC cost 3.5 lakh Rs. and that is only the cabinet part. And JackNaylorPE was talking about components with that range of budget.
