ok, so I was digging into the latest AMD processors, and then I ran into a little weird.

I know about AMD FX-9590 Vishera, but then I found AMD FX-9590 8C

I couldn't find any real specifications on the AMD FX-9590 8C, which fetches a higher price on Amazon than the Vishera...

Here are links:

AMD FX-9590 Vishera

AMD FX-9590 8C

if anyone knows the difference between these two, please let me know!

PLEASE do not get either.

The FX9590 is basically an OCd 8350 that does not perform much better. On top of that you need a premium board to run it, on top of that you can match the performance of it with a SLIGHT OC of the 8350.

So price wise, the 9590 makes NO sense.

If you are willing to spend that much on a CPU, the I7 4770K is considerably better and actually worth the price if you do rendering and the like.

thanks ish.. kinda weird that they have the same processor under a slightly different name, and at a slightly different price... you'd think they'd be different, lol..

Well, I own an AMD Build (please see my profile for specifications)

I can't afford to buy a brand new set up to go intel, and really, I can't afford to go intel at this time anyways, lol.

however, my motherboard is Asrock 990FX Extreme 4 (which I think is enough to run the CPU)

I'm not very experienced with overclocking, every time I try it, I end up either seeing little to no change, or causing crashes..

The Extreme4 does not support that CPU anyone, as mentioned in PM> Get an 8350.

The "Vishera" is probably a name for marketing. Get a FX 8350 though.

One includes the water cooler for cpu cooler, the other (cheaper one) doesn't include a cooler at all. You'll def want to run liquid with these chips, or very high end air.
