Got a new desktop yesterday, and after setting it up I was shocked at how slow the internet was. I'm getting near 1mbps download and upload on speedtest. However on my laptop, in the same location as my desktop, the internet is fine, getting around 23mbps down and 5mbps up. Anyone know what the problem is?

could be interference with the desktop, the wireless being too close to the psu or something along those lines. could be compatability between the wireless on the desktop and the router.
you could try to use a usb extension cord (assuming the wireless is usb) to put some range between the dongle and the pc or you could try a different router.
