Alright, I am planning to upgrade to a GTX 770 and an i5. I already have an i3 3220 and a 650 ti and I want to know, if I should get a last gen i5 since I already have the MOBO or should I go with haswell and drop down to like a 760 or something.

Another question, my PSU is 500 watt, so if I get an i5 and a 770 will it handle that? The only other important specs are 8 GB ram 1 500 GB hard and I don't overclock. The power supply is a CX 500.

you would see benefits from a quadcore. you will get more fps in games with that 770

500w might cover that setup, but it is cutting it somewhat close and that isnt the most reliable of psu

My advice would be to upgrade to a Haswell 4670K and a nice Z87 motherboard so you can overclock to take full advantage of the chip.

I have a limit of around $500 for everything. Would the 500 watt PSU be enough? And what card would you suggest if I went to Haswell?

If your budget is $500 I would suggest either not doing a CPU upgrade until you have a larger budget or keeping your current motherboard and getting an i5 3350P

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...

Then use the rest to get your 770. 500W PSU should be fine for that.

That's what I'll do. Thanks.

I'd get the 4670K and save up since it would make quite a bit of performance change.
