I have a corsair v850 power supply. I am building my computer and i noticed a few problems!
The 24 pin that goes in the mothere board was connected to cables (go in the psu. My motherboard has another 8 pin near the cpu labeled etx 12v. Keep in mind that the power supply is fully modular. There is a cable that has an 8 pin and its labed psu at the other end there is 4+4 labed cpu. The 8 pin fits in botg the psu and the etx 12v but the side with the four pins dont go in either together only one 4 pin connector can go in the 8 pin on the motherboard!!!!

This is my first build so please help!

Check again, the 4+4 end should fit in the ATX12V motherboard socket if you orient it correctly.
