Maybe a bad idea, but I ask anyway, And I have searched th board, but can not find a 100% clear answer..

The PC has onboard HD7660D graphics card, with only two outlets, VGA and hdmi. I would like to add one more monitor, and I have a Ati HD 5570 card I don't use.
So.. the question is:
Would both cards run at the same time? or should the onboard card be disabled?
And if, how do I disable it? and how to get both cards working that is possible?
If I disable the onboard card, will that make the PC slower? or faster? or no difference?
At the moment both are installed inside the PC, both are recognized device manager, and CPU-Z but I only have signal on the "old" onboard card.
Is it possible at all?
the motherboard is a MS 7800 ( Medion PC)
It is not to be used to play games on, only as media centre.
The reason I want 3 monitors is I have two for normal use and also a projector connected
( or I want to I should say..) and best if I don't have to unplug a monitor every time i want to use the projector.
Or is the solutiojn to switch between cards? that idea I just got.. ?
Another solution was to find an HDMI switch of course..

Thanx for any help

Splendid
Onboard is suppose to automatically disable when a dedicated card is installed. Go into bios and set the primary GPU as PCIe not onboard. This should let you use your video card as the primary display output.
A possible reason why both gpus is on could have something to do with Hybrid CrossFire
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ATI_Hybrid_Graphics
Connect all of the monitors and then turn on the system. Go into display resolutions and see if Windows detects 3 monitors.

If you are running a new AMD API such as the A10 5700 you should consider the 6670 as it is made to be paired with the current CPU based 7660d. There is a chart on the AMD website which will help you pair up your current AMD API/CPU with a Radeon card.

Hello!
I tried, but it was not possible to restart at all, Only monitors where in "burn in mode" and PC doing something, I could not see what.
Then I took out the HD5570 and then the PC could not find out to boot the first 6 times I restarted, then all of a sudden it started, but still monitors sleep until log-in screen, actually they have done that since I bought it a week ago., so to enter bios is not so easy :)
I have no idea why it behave like that, the bad thing is if I do enter the bios but can not see that on the monitor..
What to do now I don't know, I must say the PC works fine and fast for the things I want to use it for so maybe find another solution somehow? read next "input" from magneezo, maybe that is a solution? or?
But thanks a lot for your answer!! , if I find out how to go into bios and can see what I am doing- which is a properly the best :).. ... I'll try to change the settings, later.

Conclusion: as long as I can not see what I am doing in Bios, + several other proglems, I think we will not come to a solution.
Card is now out of the PC, unfortionately more problems has arrived since I tried to use it.
Seen in the mirror I should not have tried, the PC worked 100% good before, now it is ..well let me put it this way: not working very well..
Unstable programs, unexpected restarts, screen freeze.
So for the moment I burried in problems.
I hope not I have to re-install a PC that is only 8 days old.. then it wil NOT be with windows 8..that's for sure
