Sadly, my perents have just pulled the trigger on my gaming pc build :( they think that I am just wasting money time and effort building my own, but did say that they're happy to buy me an already built one but building my own is a big nono :(

Has anybody either got some good arguments for building my own pc over buying one, or could surgest some good desktops to buy (£600)

Edit: there main worry is not having a big company such as dell/hp to call if something goes wrong

Actually, the best and truest reason I believe is the knowledge you gain building it. Highlight that you want to learn about PC's and building one yourself is the best way to do it, just make sure you actually do some research and learn about it in the process. I know the hardware and software diagnostic skills I acquired building my PC have helped me in my academic and professional life.

I have literally spent the last 6 month s researching (mustve watched over 100 youtube videos) and have got to the stage where I am now very confident and have a half decent knowledge base, I have also become possibly interested in computer science as a career path! Unless my perents are told by an expert, they won't listen!

Just make sure you keep track of where you get all the parts and if something goes wrong contact wherever you bought it from. All the parts you buy are under warranty.

It's much more likely that a pre-made PC will have issues down the line because they use less quality components. Most of the pre-made builds I see people linking on here are really bad. With junk quality PSUs, an i7 processor and some terrible graphics card.
