I have an issue with my Netgear router and my Hawking HOW2R1 wireless repeater, and would love some assistance! About 2 weeks after the wireless repeater was installed and connected to the existing Netgear router through ethernet (for increased signal strength), several (but not all) devices that connected to either the original wifi network or the second network created by the Wifi extender refused to connect to the internet.

I ran some tests. Wired connections between the original router and my laptop work 100%, wireless between my samsung galaxy phone and either wifi network work about 5% of the time, and my iOs device connects to both networks 90% of the time.

If I unplug the wifi extender from the router and remove the power source, my phone can connect to the original wifi network with no problems. But, once I plug the extender back in, I lose all data and pages do not load. This would imply that the problem lies either in the wifi extender, or in the router but only when the extender is plugged in.

I would appreciate your assistance in this issue! Please let me know if any more information is required.
