Best Possible Upgrades

GPU- ATI Radeon HD 5850 - 1GB
CPU- AMD Phenom™ II X4 955 Quad-Core CPU
RAM- 12gb of Ram- I Have 2 different types of ram. 2x 2GBs Corsair 1600MHz & 2x 4GB Vengeance Corsair 1866MHz
MB- Gigabyte GA-890GPA-UD3H -- AMD 890GX
PSU- Smart M Series Thermaltake 850w

Should I take the 2x 2GBs Corsair 1600MHz ram out?

What to upgrade first?

Thinking of upgrading to

GPU- Sapphire R9 280X Toxic
CPU- FX 8350 4GHz AM3+
MB- GIGABYTE GA-990FXA-UD3 AM3+

Should I go intel & a Nvidia card? If so what MB, CPU, and GPU combo should I get?

Hello. I honestly can't see much wrong with your plans. Go for it! Yes probably running 8Gb @ 1866 is better than 12Gb @ 1600, but it won't really make any massive difference.

If you can afford to go Intel Nvidia, I personally would recommend it. I have had both an AMD/AMD combo and an Intel/Nvidia and I prefer the Intel/Nvidia combo. They just play so well together. I'm sure either way, you will be happy though.

Depends on how much you want to spend, the top option will be cheaper, the bottom option more powerful.
