Im playing at 1080p resolution and I was wondering which one of these cards I should purchase? Im huge on visuals so I want to be able to play games at Ultra quality at the same time maintain a high frame rate (50-60 avg).
I would also like to play with many graphical mods (HD overhauls, ENB, etc) for Skyrim, Fallout NV, GTA IV, etc.
I intend to use the graphics card strictly for gaming only.
Budget isnt really an issue but saving money isnt a bad thing.

Thanks!

How about the R9 290x?

The 290x is likely out of OP's price range. The 770 will do exactly what you intend to do with your PC. If you do have the extra money for a 780, your GPU will last you slightly longer than a 770.

I was orginally going with the 770 but the 2gb vram is whats really bothering me right now. It seems that all those graphical overhauls\mods for Skyrim require 3gb+ vram! I could get the 770 4gb version but at that point i might as well get a 780!

Show me a 290X cheaper than a 780 then? PCPartpicker lists the lowest 780 would be roughly 484, whereas the lowest 290X is 565.

I was considering the 290x until I heard about the very high temps and noise on the card. I dont think I can enjoy my rig if it sounds like a jet engine.

770 for 1080
780 or 290 (no x) for 1440 or multi monitor
