So I'm not much an Apple guy. I'm putting music on to my friend's ipod. I think its a 3rd gen, with the touch screen. I did a reset on it, and it shows a pic of it wanting to connect to itunes on the screen, but when I do, nothing happens. The device doesn't even show up in itunes. My PC recognizes it, and I have updated to the latest itunes along with the latest drivers for the ipod (which is a 2006 driver.) Is there something I am missing? Any help would be appreciated! :)

Try putting your iPod in DFU mode. What is DFU? Device Firmware Upgrade

Step 1: Turn off your iPod touch completely and connect to your PC

Step 2: Hold down the Power button for 3 seconds

Step 3: Without releasing the power button, also hold the Home button for 10 seconds

Step 4: Without releasing the home button, release the power button and keep holding the Home button for 20 seconds.

iTunes will identify that you are in DFU mode.

If that doesn't work try the program TinyUmbrella.
