I just have a quick question

let say i have like 5 people connected to the wifi and then I have

myself on the ethernet
does the traffic and bandwidth from the wifi decrease the ethernet port? of does it work differently

only wifi messes with wifi and

ethernet messes with ethenert

Talking to the router, the WiFi doesn't affect the ethernet cable 'speed', aside from the overall capabilities of the router.

But talking to the outside world, you are all going through the same pipe. A 10Mbps pipe shared among 5 people, all 'downloading' at the same time = 2Mpbs per person when talking outside.

so then it does effect internet speed when downloading only? how about surfing the web not as much? the pipes dont get clogged as much when surfing or video watching but perhaps playing a intensive game for example

intensive game on : desktop running ethernet online

laptop running same game online through wifi

can you give me feedback on how this would work so the ping or latency would be slow due to more usage of bandwidth?

Anything you do online involves 'downloading' and 'uploading'.

Opening a webpage - downloading that code, even if only for a second or two.
Accessing and reading a pdf file? Downloading.
Refreshing a page here on Toms? Downloading.
Writing a post? Downloading and uploading.

How much of that is going on at the same time?

What is the plan you have from your ISP?
