Hi. I'm currently building a high end gaming PC; I already own a Radeon HD 7990. However, I'm having trouble choosing a good monitor, $700 budget. I play various different games, however I do not play online FPS. I'm currently wondering whether I will be better off purchasing a 27" 5ms 60hz 1440p monitor or a 24" 1-2ms 144hz 1080p monitor. Any suggestions would be helpful. Thanks

Since you dont play online fps then there is no use of the increased refresh rate since you will be playing games as RPGs (skyrim, TW) or even third person view shooters or games (ME, batman, gta). On these games, more than 60 fps is useless but higher res gives higher quality image with higher details. Higher refresh rates are really needed for online FPS (which you dont play) to increase smoothness of the game. Since your gpu can handle 1440p, then i would recommend it.
