CPU: Intel i5 760 2.8ghz (quad core)
GPU: GTX 770 2GB
RAM: 12GB

I'm not sure my CPU is good enough. I might be able to overclock to 3.6 but I've got a stock fan and I'm not an expert at overclocking.

I'm not sure your CPU will handle it and I don't think you can overclock unless its a 760k version? Sorry if I'm wrong, not that good on the overclocking topic. Anyways, your GPU and RAM are more than enough to run it :)

the I5-760 is roughly half as powerful as my I5-3570k. At 60fps, max settings, my CPU is 80-90% most of the time. I usually have it o/c to 4.4GHz, so it's around 60-80% usage.
You may not get a constant 60fps with a single GTX770 anyway (might be ok with no MSAA), but I recon your CPU may limit the FPS to around 40fps or less.

Will the cpu not bottleneck my gpu? Is 2.8ghz enough? And would OCing to 3.6 be too risky?

I answered your first question as accurately as possible without actually having your setup and trying it. For your second question, "too risky" is too subjective to answer.

BTW a 'thanks' for the answers already given may encourage people into giving more answers.

Yes, your cpu will be a bottleneck, however, you should be able to get playable fps (40-60fps).

if you read this: http://www.pcgameshardware.de/Battlefield-3-PC-221396/Specials/Battlefield-3-Multiplayer-Tipps-CPU-Benchmark-1039293/

your cpu can hold an avg 61fps running bf3 with a gtx 680. you would get similar results on bf4 with a 770.

regarding overclocking, I would not overclock your cpu, unless you are getting cool temps now, which I doubt. you could try it, and test it out; if you get high temps, immediately go back to stock.

i would recommend going with the AMD equivalant of this CPU. you are gonna need more juice CPU wise for bf4. AMD chips offer some amazing price/performance on the market to date. This could be beneficial to you, also a chip that has some good overlcoking features will go along way in helping to runbf4 on good settings without a major bottleneck occuring.
hope this helps :)

Thanks for the replies guys :) Unfortunately, buying a new CPU is out of the question atm. I can deal with 40-60fps and I can drop it down to just High if need be.
