So i'm looking to get a PC, and with the money i've saved and christmas rolling around i can build myself a $950 build. So i was wondering what you guys would recommend? Do note that i will be getting an after market cooler soon after. And would rather spend the money to get a better case or whatever. I'm looking for a nice case. a Quality one. Two i have been considering are the nzxt phantom 410, and mainly the Fractal design define R4. So if you can fit that, great. So what can you guys recoomend for me?

Microcenter sells the i5-4670k and ASRock Z87 Extreme4 in a combo deal. It's $35 off the combo. Even if you do find a 4670k for $200, which is highly unlikely to find it at microcenter price, you'll still be missing the $35 from the combo deal.
My advice: Black Friday has tons of different parts on sale. Wait until a day or two before Black Friday and look at the different parts on sale. Post a new thread if you have to. We don't know what will be on sale so it's harder to suggest parts.

It's $50 over your budget. Tell me if that's not okay.

I changed the case to a HAF 912 instead of a Design R4. Doesn't affect performance, still a great case.

jjs's build is actually about $80-90 above budget if you don't live near a microcenter. His processor and motherboard is in a combo deal at microcenter that is only available for in store pick up. If you don't live near a microcenter, you can't buy it for that price.

-Using online retail prices.
-Windows 8.1 is overall faster.
-Corsair 500R is a great case on sale. It has superb airflow. You may want to consider this case.

I noticed that the I5 you picked in in-store only, and i don't have one anywhere near me. I made a build while i was bored, not to sure if its any good or not. I use mainly amazon and Newegg since its usually free shipping and there aren't a ton of bullshit rebate cards. I would be getting the case from Best Buy.

What would you change? I might change the RAM to what you had for windows 8.1 and not sure what else.

Actually, for some reason, PC Part Picker keeps defaulting microcenter. Here's my revised build without microcenter:

Unable to overclock, but the stock performance of this thing is great.
Using only Amazon and Newegg.

Am i only the one who doesn't like rebates. Are ones on Newegg usually real? Like you'll actually get it?

Well Newegg doesn't do the rebates, you send the rebates into the company.
Asus, Corsair, and XFX are extremely reliable companies. I have done Asus and Corsair rebates without any trouble. Just fill out the form, attach a proof of purchase, and send it in via mail. After multiple weeks, you'll get your money back. Easy as that. Asus, Corsair, and XFX all have good reputation. If you follow their instructions, then you'll be fine with the rebates. They don't want any dis-satisfied customers.
