Hey guys,

I've been trying for a few days now to reformat and/or access the bios on this Acer Aspire 7551. It's a Phoenix bios, and it's locked with a password, and I can't seem to get around it. I've tried the "backdoor passwords" and they dont work. I've tried removing the CMOS battery for 24 hours, to no avail. Now there is also no Bootmanager option (no F12 at startup). I've tried to install a version of WinXP (via bootable USB), but it claims the Hal.dll file is corrupt/missing. There is no longer any way to launch bootmgr or do anything via software except enter a password locked bios.

I'm stuck. I need to get into the bios, to change the partition the computer boots from (I think). How can I access bios, if I have no OS or bootmgr? I was thinking of finding the jumpers on this laptop, but I've scoured the vast depths of the internet and I can't find any pictures of where they are, or what they're labeled as, on the motherboard.

Where are the jumpers on the Acer Aspire 7551 series? What are they labeled as?

Other thoughts/suggestions?
