looking for a gpu for around 200

APPROXIMATE PURCHASE DATE: whenever I get cash. I guess latest would be Feb. 2014/summer of 2014

USAGE FROM MOST TO LEAST IMPORTANT: gaming, recording, streaming

CURRENT GPU AND POWER SUPPLY: first build

OTHER RELEVANT SYSTEM SPECS:
http://pcpartpicker.com/user/kevin28115/saved/2JhE

PREFERRED WEBSITE(S) FOR PARTS: so far only have experience with newegg.

PARTS PREFERENCES: any one that will be reliable and for good reasons not because of brand name

OVERCLOCKING: Yes, will try.

MONITOR RESOLUTION: still unsure of this. may get a crappy monitor until I save up for a better one. 21 inch when i get a chance?

ADDITIONAL COMMENTS: a system that will be taxed at most when playing Team Fortress 2, streaming and recording. I know it isn't really that taxing but I want a system that is great and has a chance for me to learn how to overclock as well.

Budget: around $1000
build: http://pcpartpicker.com/user/kevin28115/saved/2JhE

CPU AMD FX-8350 4.0GHz 8-Core Combo or $199.99
CPU Cooler Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO 82.9 CFM Sleeve Bearing $29.98
Motherboard Asus M5A99FX PRO R2.0 ATX AM3+ Combo or $124.99
Memory G.Skill Sniper Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1866 $73.98
Storage Samsung 840 Pro Series 128GB 2.5" SSD $122.99
Seagate Barracuda 2TB 3.5" 7200RPM $84.99
Video Card Sapphire Radeon HD 7950 3GB $195.66
Case Cooler Master HAF 932 Advanced ATX Full Tower $99.99
Power Supply Cooler Master 720W ATX12V $79.99
Optical Drive Asus DRW-24B1ST/BLK/B/AS DVD/CD Writer $16.98
Operating System Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 (OEM) (64-bit) $84.98

any comments/recommendations?

so this is a computer which I will be running tf2 + streaming + recording and some vid editing. I will most likely run 2 monitors though those may be 15in? monitors until I get enough for those 100 dollar monitors (those monitors cost like 15 each)

oh a main concern that I have about the 7950. I read somewhere there was a fix with stability and the pin was changed to 8 pin (or 2 8 pins or something to that effect?) and I was wondering what this 7950's pinset was at along with if the price of 210 as too good to be true as some of the review say that the gpu was someone else's rma.

Thanks for any inputs!

My biggest recommendation is to wait. You want to get an AMD CPU you said, and AMD is on the verge of releasing a new series of CPU's with much better performance.

If you don't want to wait, go Intel.

For the GPU, prices will change a lot between now and the time you expect to purchase. So much so that it is a bad idea for anyone to recommend you a part at this time. Best to wait and ask closer to when you will actually purchase.

Thank you. I saw something about the amd releasing something new but there was no definitive date and i don't understand graphic card prices. the saphire radeon 7950 jumped from 210 to 300 recently and left me puzzled. I'll most likely do something along the lines of waiting maybe even until summer just because I really don't have time to game until then.

Thanks again.

Yea its all a little confusing on the prices at the moment, AMD is refreshing pretty much every part of their market and causing a lot of changes to the prices. Intel isn't really moving, but Nvidia had to drop prices big time and create a new graphics card cause the AMD cards performed so much better at a lower cost.

Best if you don't need it right now you hold off. Its expected AMD will probably have a few of the new CPU's, probably the high end models, out before this year ends.

For graphics, its just best to wait cause prices will go down in the time between now and when you will buy. The 7950 if it jumped in price (I haven't looked at it lately) is probably to just catch it up with the equivalent card in the new series. They were trying to clear them out for when new products come, but one of the new cards is a 7950 with a different name, so they had to keep from under cutting their sales.

Be sure to come back in Summer though when you do go to build and I am sure you will have lots of help.

Please pick a solution if you don't have any more questions.

that build is fine, the only thing i would change is the psu, coolermaster arent the most reliable brand. Antec, corsair and seasonic are the best brands to get, just dont opt for their lowest end ones.
